MWCIA Trades

The MWCIA Trades is a unique trade organisation formed by Hanley Amos Stewart Building Surveyors, who have been in private practice for over 20 years.

The Principal Surveyor, Mr D Waterworth BSc (Hons) FBEng MEWI is a leading Expert Witness in Construction Disputes and has extensive knowledge of building disputes and therefore understands the need for a bone-fide list of the best window installers within the UK.

The purpose of such a register would be to advise and protect the general public/consumers.

Throughout the last 20 years, what has become apparent to Mr Waterworth is that there is no clear directive to which the consumer can revert or refer to when attempting to find a trades person to carry out work at the consumers property. This is borne out by the number of disputes and Court cases that Mr Waterworth has worked on in the last 20 years, over 1,000 in number.

Protecting the consumer

Everyone has seen TV programmes such as ‘Rouge Traders’ and ‘Cowboy Builders’. Mr Waterworth has worked on similar cases and indeed has worked with the BBC on the TV programme ‘Don’t Get Done get Dom’.

Clearly the consumers are not well advised nor well protected, and it was with these concerns in mind that the MWCIA was formed in 2010. Primarily for the Window Industry. The main task being to protect the consumer by introducing professional and highly skilled window installers to the consumer via the MWCIA.
